You know no matter how fed up you may be feeling there are somethings that just cheer you up and make you want to smile.

A perfect example is an article that I recently read in a weekly news magazine to which I subscribe.  At the time I was feeling somewhat jaded, this being due to a number of problems that had arisen and which were causing a considerable amount of nausea.  Anyway, I decided to take a short break and to take my mind of the issues that I was trying to resolve I picked up the magazine to read what was happening in the world.

The artcle that caught my eye and brought a smile to my face and cheered me up was not only amusing but was also relevant to my work.  The story was about a lady by the name of Aysha Perry who had started to choke on a piece of chicken that she was eating.

To make matters worse Aysha was at home on her own and prehaps not surprisingly was convinced that she was going to choke to death.  In desperation, as she desperatly struggled to breath she tried to phone for an ambulance.  to her immense relief help arrived, though not in the form or manner that she expected.  Rather than intervention and expert treatment from a Paramedic her saviour turned out to be her pet dog – Sheba, a Japenese Akita.

Apparently, Sheba came bounding into the room and seeing Aysha struggling on the floor and desperatly trying to breath intervened and provided First Aid.  the canine crusader delivered a solid paw to Aysha back and in so doing dislodged the pice of chicken that was causing so much trouble.

Aysha reported that the blow hurt a little, this being due to the size of her dog, but as she went on to say “I can’t really complain.”

A pretty impressive fete and the dog had not even undertaken a training course.
