First Aid

a. Health & Safety Executive. This web site is maintained by the Health & Safety Executive and is extremely useful for keeping up to date with a wide range of issues. For example from the 1st October 2009 new changes to the first aid training regime were introduced to give businesses and organisations greater flexibility. While, legislation remains the same, there are changes to the supporting guidance. Further information can be found on their web site:

b. Resuscitation Council. The Resuscitation Council was established to facilitate education of both lay and health-care professional members of the population in the most effective methods of resuscitation appropriate to their needs. The web site provides valuable information relating to CPR etc and is updated regularly.

Food Safety

The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) is a registered charity and the professional voice for environmental health. It sets standards, accredits courses and qualifications for the education of members and other environmental health practitioners.

Conflict Management

The Institute of Conflict Management (ICM), is an independent organisation incorporated to develop strategies and standards to help reduce, and where possible eliminate, the risk associated with incidents of challenging, aggressive and violent behaviours. The ICM works across all sectors and at all levels to achieve this aim.
