Introduction to Risk Assessment Course

Course Description

The Introduction to Risk Assessment Course lasts a half-day and has been designed to provide an effective and interesting basic introduction to the subject of Risk Assessment.

During the half-day course students will be introduced to a number of subjects, including legislation, the importance of risk assessments, their role in accident prevention and protection of the workforce and basic actions that they can take to help control risk. The course concludes with a practical exercise whereby the students are introduced to a simple risk assessment.

The subject matter covered means that this course is suited to individuals working in any environment who require or would benefit from a greater awareness of risk assessments and their need and value in the workplace.

Course Duration

The course lasts a half-day and consists mainly of theory based session with a some practical elements.

Course Syllabus

A range of subjects are covered including:

  • Legislation
  • The need for Risk Assessments and their impact on Health & Safety in the Workplace
  • The role of Risk Assessments in accident nd ill-health prevention the sale of certain products
  • Principles of Risk Assessment
  • Control of risks
  • Maintaining records
  • Practical session – a simple risk assessment exercise

The course has been designed to allow it to be tailored to meet the needs of the client and we are always happy to discuss how we can meet your exact requirements.

Assessment Method

Students are required to undertake and successfully complete a 15-question multiple-choice question paper examination. The duration of the examination is 30 minutes. Successful learners must achieve a score of 10 out of 15.

Certification

Subject to successful assessment, all students will receive a Certificate of Attendance and Completion.

Numbers

A maximum of twenty (20) students can be accommodated on this course.

Course Fees

The On-Site cost of this course, per student, is £35.00 (Inc VAT).

The minimum number of students required for an “In-House” course is 6. Smaller groups can be catered for but the cost will be as per 6 students.

Location

We are able to deliver this course at your site, thus reducing your costs in respect of additional time out and traveling.
