Medical Emergencies Response Training

The General Dental Council state that:

“All members of staff who might be involved in dealing with a medical emergency (should be) trained and prepared to deal with such an emergency at any time, and practice together regularly”.

Course Description

Med-BagThis intensive and interactive course was originally designed to meet the needs of Dental Practices, by providing dentists and the entire dental team with the skills and confidence to effectively manage life threatening and common medical emergencies. However, the course has become increasingly popular and is suitable for any location where higher levels of skill and equipment are available.

In such circumstances, relying on Basic Life Support alone, whilst awaiting the arrival of the Ambulance Service is arguably unacceptable. It is also important to be able to provide an accurate and professional hand over to the Ambulance Service when they do arrive. This course will provide the knowledge and skills required to achieve this.

The course therefore covers the medical emergencies for dentists recommended by the Resuscitation Council (UK) and General Dentistry Council. Additional training such as Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation or the use of an Automated External Defibrillator can also be “bolted on”.

The course duration is 3 hours and can usually be delivered at a time to suit your needs.
